The show will be broadcast live on CBS.

Six people sustained minor injuries when a car plowed into a Subway restaurant in Anaheim Hills.Police Sgt. Rick Martinez says a 79-year-old man stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake and the car lurched through the front door of the sandwich shop Monday afternoon.
LOS ANGELES
Sheriff's deputies say a man charged with strangling an English professor in July 2008 has died in his Los Angeles County jail cell.Lt. Pat Nelson says Marlon Martinez died on Christmas Day in a six-person cell at Men's Central Jail. He says deputies conducting a security check found the 22-year-old Long Beach man in respiratory distress and were unable to revive him.

Drugmaker Vivus Inc. said Tuesday it asked regulators to approve its drug candidate Qnexa as a treatment for obesity.Vivus said it has filed a new drug application with the Food and Drug Administration. A week ago, competitor Arena Pharmaceuticals Inc. said it filed for approval of its own experimental obesity drug, lorcaserin. Orexigen Therapeutics plans to request marketing approval for its product Contrave32 in the first half of 2010.

A group of California artists wants Mexicans and Central Americans to have more than just a few cans of tuna and a jug of water for their illegal trek through the harsh desert into the U.S.Faculty at University of California, San Diego are developing a GPS-enabled cell phone that tells dehydrated migrants where to find water and pipes in poetry from phone speakers, regaling them on their journey much like Emma Lazarus' words did a century ago to the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free" on Ellis Island.
SAN JOSE
Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. said Tuesday it has settled its legal dispute over patent rights with German rival Infineon Technologies AG, and the two have signed a cross-licensing agreement.Fairchild said it will take a $6 million charge in the fourth quarter related to the deal. Infineon said it will get payments from Fairchild as a part of the settlement but did not give specific figures.

In no way does 49ers coach Mike Singletary consider Sunday's game at St. Louis a gimmee, even if San Francisco routed the struggling Rams 35-0 in the teams' first meeting nearly three months ago.Yet the Niners should feel good about their chances against St. Louis - and a win could do much for San Francisco (7-8) as it heads into the offseason after yet another missed trip to the playoffs. A victory would end a franchise-worst stretch of six straight losing seasons and snap a six-game road losing streak since the team won its season opener on Sept. 13.
