A computer hacker who helped orchestrate one of the largest credit card thefts in U.S. history is expected plead guilty in the final of three cases brought by federal prosecutors.Albert Gonzalez of Miami has been accused of invading the computer systems of several major retailers and stealing tens of millions of credit and debit card numbers.

The family of a 12-year-old Lowell boy severely injured when he was struck by a car while crossing a city street in a crosswalk has sued the teenage suspect and her father.Lawyers for Dao Savanhmixay (sah-vahn-MIX'-ee) and her son, Kelvin, filed the suit against 17-year-old Michelle Medeiros and her father, Fernando, earlier this month in Lawrence Superior Court.
HOLYOKE
An anonymous donor has offered to replace a Vermont woman's wheelchair that was stolen from her daughter's car in a Massachusetts mall parking lot just before Christmas.Lucille Riccio's wheelchair was stolen while her daughter was shopping Dec. 16 at the Holyoke Mall. The 72-year-old Riccio says the $1,000 wheelchair, which she hadn't finished paying for, was the only way she could leave her home.
QUINCY
Authorities say an arraignment date has been scheduled for a retired Quincy firefighter charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run on Christmas Eve.The Norfolk district attorney's office says 61-year-old Paul Daley will be arraigned on charges of motor vehicle homicide due to negligent operation, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and negligent driving in Quincy District Court on Jan. 5.
WORCESTER
Another Massachusetts city is dealing with a string of suspected arson fires.Worcester fire officials say they are investigating whether a small fire Sunday night at a school is connected to two other fires in the area this month.
BOSTON
A Massachusetts man who spent 18 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of raping three women has settled a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city of Boston for $3.25 million.City lawyer William Sinnott says the city settled with Ulysses Rodriguez Charles earlier this month to avert a federal trial.
