Nebraska coach Doc Sadler says freshman Adrien Coleman is leaving the Cornhuskers.Sadler said in a statement Monday that Coleman plans to transfer to another school. The coach gave no reason.

Nebraska lawmakers are set to again consider repealing a law that offers tuition breaks to some illegal immigrants, and the looming debate is already drawing support.A majority of lawmakers participating in an Associated Press pre-session survey say they support rescinding the offer made after lawmakers fought to override Gov. Dave Heineman's veto to pass the law in 2006.

Adults may be certified as volunteer youth fishing instructors for the Youth Fishing Program.The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will have free training from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 6 at Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium.

Native American tribes tired of waiting for the U.S. government to honor centuries-old treaties are buying back land where their ancestors lived and putting it in federal trust.Native Americans say the purchases will help protect their culture and way of life by preserving burial grounds and areas where sacred rituals are held. They also provide land for farming, timber and other efforts to make the tribes self-sustaining.

Two of NFL star Michael Vick's former financial advisers will never manage pension plans again as part of an agreement related to the misuse of about $1.3 million.The U.S. Department of Labor said Thursday that Mary Wong of Omaha and David Talbot are both barred from handling pension funds again. Both helped manage Vick's money while he was in federal prison on dogfighting charges.
