Homeschoolers should enter the Arkansas History Webcast Competition

Media oriented homeschoolers may want to consider entering the Arkansas History Webcast Competition sponsored by Digital Shorts. There are two categories: audio cast and video cast. Entries are being accepted now through January 4, 2010. Students will be competing for cash prizes. Entries can be submitted as individuals or groups.

Details

Between now and January 4, 2010, homeschooled high school students should choose a topic in Arkansas history from 1836 to the present. This topic should be presented as either an audio cast or video cast. The audio/video cast should be no longer than ten minutes. Audio casts should be submitted in mp3 format. Video casts should be submitted in mp4, WMV or MOV format.

Criteria
All submissions will be judged on a six-point scale as follows:

  • Historical accuracy 20%
  • Content, subject matter 20%
  • Creativity 15%
  • Technical aspects 15%
  • Clarity, ability to convey ideas 15%
  • Overall impression 15%
  •  

How to submit
You can enter as many times as you like. There will only be one winner in each category. All entries must be burned onto a CD or DVD. The entry along with all applicable forms should be mailed to:
