Sundai hung around but couldn't make it until the end.
The CW

"America's Next Top Model" has delivered a shocker: Erin is still in the competition. After two weeks of being in the bottom two, it was almost a foregone conclusion that this would be the week she went home. In the end, though, she was saved this time around by one other contestant's failure to stop complaining during the photo shoot.

Water seemed to be a pretty consistent theme of this week's episode. First, the remaining five models (Erin, Sundai, Nicole, Jennifer, and Laura) had to try and pose both while getting showered with water and while jumping off a rock. With the latter of these two challenges, I'll actually give these girls a ton of credit: if I was jumping into the ocean I'd be too busy fearing for my life to even bother with what my faced needed to look like. Keeping up the recent trend of strong outings, Nicole won the challenge and was given a very difficult choice: choosing somebody who will (along with her) have extra time at the final photo shoot. That person then picked another person, and it went on like this until one person was left out in the cold. That person was Erin, who may be taking on the role of most unsympathetic outcast of all time. Even when she gets into the "I'm almost likable phase" I'm then reminded of her shoving people around in Walmart.

Once we got to the main photo shoot this week, we were given two major pieces of information to digest: Laura is afraid of drowning and Sundai has about a million different problems going on from asthma to ear pain to a long wig. Nicole, Laura, and Jennifer continued to press on as they look more and more like they will ultimately become the show's final three--none of them have been in serious jeopardy to this point in the competition. This of course leaves Sundai and Erin as the odd ones out, and it showed during the shoot.

In terms of actual success during the challenges, Sundai has not frequently been at the top of the pack but her personality (along with her status as the shortest girl in the competition at 5'3'') has made her someone to root for. Unfortunately, the underdog just couldn't pull it out for one more episode as Tyra Banks felt she gave way too many excuses during the underwater shoot and not enough good modeling. Even though she only had half the time, Erin managed to pull off a better photo and that was what mattered most.

Next week, it looks like we better prepare for another shocker as Tyra eliminates two girls at one time. Erin seems like s surefire bet to leave at this point, but out of the other three it really could be anyone. (I'm predicting a final two myself of Nicole and Jennifer.)
