In an attempt to attract more Latino fans the NBA has launched enebea -- the Spanish pronunciation of NBA. Enebea is a new marketing initiative aimed at personalizing the NBA experience for Hispanic fans. Enebea will feature increased TV and internet exposure and community projects geared toward the Latino community.

To kick off enebea, the league played its second ever pre-season game in Monterrey, Mexico this past weekend. The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Phoenix Suns 116-94 in the exhibition. Andre Iguodala led the way for Philly pouring in 23 points on 11-17 shooting.

The game itself was broadcast in Spanish on NBATV.

"With Hispanics comprising such a large percentage of our fan base, we have a responsibility to connect with them in meaningful ways," NBA senior director of U.S. Hispanic marketing Saskia Sorrosa said.

There are currently 19 players in the NBA from Latin American countries.
