Def Jam 2009

Does Rihanna doubt her own magic?

Rihanna’s third track “Hard” ft Young Jeezy was leaked.

This week “Russian Roulette” is available for download on iTunes and “Wait Your Turn” has premiered for radio play. “Hard” was allegedly brought out because of the lack of enthusiasm and positive feedback from the two prior tracks. It’s obvious that Rated R is set to bring out a new style and a more laid-back atmosphere for the singer. It’s very admirable for her and her camp to release music that isn’t expected; If you ask me, that’s a true artist. Honestly, “RR” is a fantastic track, in the way that “Take a Bow” wasn’t a stomper, but rocked in its own way (and all the way to #1 without even a video to support it).

Throughout the day/week it’ll be visible whether “RR” will have the power to climb the charts because of digital sales. It seems that Britney’s feat with “3” means more than what people thought. Not even Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” rock enough to be a #1 on the Hot 100. Owl City’s “Fireflies” is still holding “RR” off the #1 spot.

“Wait Your Turn” the music video premiered on her website, and although it’s still respectful for her to be trying new things, it does seem her time with Jay Z has turned her into a bit of a gangster. The eye-patch aside, the entire video looks like an underground-Jigga-wet-dream. Watch HERE.
