Attention villagers, NYU Students and people who hang in Washington Square Park, or can make it to Washington Square Park, next week from November 10th-November 15th! On November 10th, Mayor Bloomberg, Academy Award winner Emma Thompson, Coco de Mer and founder, activist and entrepreneur, Sam Roddick will be launching "Journey."

Journey is an installation that illustrates seven stages of a woman who was trafficked into sexual slavery through exhibits created inside seven shipping containers. Each container tells the powerful and personal story and of the brutal reality experienced by such women. The seven stages are Hope, Journey, Uniform, Bedroom, Customer, Stigma and Resurrection.

Journey’s arrival in Manhattan celebrates the third leg of its tour across the globe and it’s first visit to the United States. This profoundly powerful piece has galvanized the artistic skills of a highly experienced and talented team assembled from a range of disciplines including: Turner Prize-winning artist, Anish Kapoor; internationally acclaimed artist Antony Micallef; Oscar-winning costume designer, Sandy Powell; one of Britain’s leading graffiti artists, MODE2; BAFTA-nominated Art Director, Michael Howells; playwright, Simon Stephens; photographer, James Ostrer; Royal graphic designer, Mike Dempsey; V&A award-winning illustrator, Laura Carlin; Trafficked woman, Elena Varga and Lifetime Achievement Award-winner in Human Rights, Helen Bamber OBE.

The exhibit will be located on Washington Place, Washington Square Park. (Washington Place between Greene Street and Washington Square East) Definitely check it out!
