Former Season 3 Biggest Loser contestant Jaron Tate is scheduled to compete this weekend in the Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon in Wilmington, NC. Plus, NBC's The Biggest Loser plans to tape him competing as part of a Thanksgiving special titled  “The Biggest Loser, Where Are They Now?”.

The Beach2Battleship triathlon is on November 7. It is Iron distance, so it includes a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run.

Tate, 31, now a certified personal trainer, lost over 100 pounds on the show (going from 323 to 163). Since taping ended, Tate  has competed in several triathlons -  sprints as well as half iron distances - and even finished a 100 mile bike ride.

The Beach2Battleship swim segment begins at Wrightsville Beach via a mass beach start. The race gets the battleship portion of its name in T2, which takes place at the Battleship North Carolina.  The run also starts and finishes at the battleship.

Over 1,470 athletes are expected to compete in the Beach2Battleship event (which offers both full and half distances).
