Need to shop for last minute gifts? Here are some recent deals that I have received that make Christmas shopping a little easier on the purse.
Old Navy has some great deals. I purchase a coat that was marked down to $30 from $75 for my 12 year old. I found some really cute sweat pants for my 14 year old that was tagged $19.99, but we paid $10 for. There were lots of sales, many items for 60% off. Old Navy also routinely has clearance items.
Game Stop has their DVD collection marked at 75% as they are no longer accepting DVDs. In addition they are clearing out their GameBoy Color games at 75% off. Remember that on the DS you can play backwards for all generations. Speaking of Gameboys, the DS Lite version has a trade in value of $50 and a retail of $100. A great gift at Game Stop is always a subscription to Game Informer magazine; $15 is the cost of a one year subscription which also includes a Game Stop card that gives 10% off used purchases and 10% added to used purchases. I used our card and a buy 2 used get one free to get a sweet deal on some games for the boys.
I am not a big fan of Wal-Mart, but their $1.00 clearance items lured me in. I got my daughter some really cute tops that she can layer, and the boys some cool t-shirts. Paid $12 plus tax for 12 items. One of the Wal-Mart workers told me that mark downs are done after the morning bell ringers. I have used that information to shop a couple of times for clothing for the kids.
I am on the Khols email list and received a $5 off anything. I used it on their 75% off clearance to get a Tony Hawk t-shirt for my son. I paid 43 cents for it. They had a lot of t-shirts and polo shirts for $5 and under. Well worth the time of checking them out.
Due to the economic conditions a lot of stores have already started their after Christmas sales, so you can really get some good buys. You just have to look around. Also, remember your store fliers. A lot of stores will price match the same item. Good luck on the last minute thing.
