I have written several things regarding the recent and untimely death of Jett Travolta. I have kept a lot of my opinions to myself, but I feel I can no longer be silent.
The press continues to push the issue of whether Jett was a child with autism. I ask, truly, what does it matter? He was a child so obviously loved by his family. He was diagnosed as a child with Kawasaki Syndrome. But most of all, he was a child.
I have a child with autism. He is a child, not his medical diagnosis. He plays, goes to school, does his chores, and is a child. Does the diagnosis affect whether or not he is loved, or the amount of love he recieves in the family? Of course not. Just as Jett was a child loved and cherished by his family.
It is time to lay down the pursuit of evidence against or for anything. The Travolta family has lost a brother and son. Let us step back and allow them the privacy they so need at this time.
