Are you a woman of God?
Proverbs 31 has always been a role model for Christian women. But, have you ever broken it down to see what it is really saying to you as a Christian woman in today’s world of the 22 century? Times are different now, but the application is the same!
The first thing that King Lemuel’s mother taught him in Proverbs 31:1 was that a virtuous (strong and full of valor) woman’s value was far above that of precious rubies (or pearls)! (Proverbs 31:10) This woman is portrayed as the perfect role model for wives, mothers, homemakers and business women! That’s why her value is so high! Actually in God’s sight she is not only beautiful but priceless! See http://God is making up His jewels, are you one of them?
As a wife does the heart of your husband safely trust you to handle finances and run the home without running up bills or debts? Maybe with the economy the way it is, he won’t have to take a second job because of your diligence and frugality! (Verse 11) Many women are now running their own businesses either on line or from their homes. Could you be one of them?
Do you always do everything that is good for him and make certain he is well taken care of? Did you commit to doing that for the rest of your life? You will not do or say anything that will cause evil to be brought on his name. After all, he is also an important part of the community and you are a reflection of him! Is he is looked up to by his peers, his coworkers, and employer? Are you doing your part by encouraging him, helping him and supporting him in his dreams and goals? And are you also praying for his successes?

Are you willing to work with your hands and seek the best material to work with? Women who sew for their families are a real asset. If you don’t sew there other ways that you can contribute to your household and family such as finding good consignment shops. I knew a woman years ago in one of our church areas who had three little girls. Her husband did not make a lot of money, but you would never know it as she kept her home spotless and looking nice, her girls looked like they stepped out of a catalog and so did she. She not only sewed for them but also shopped at consignment and used clothing shops and found the nicest dresses and outer wear for them and her to wear. She also picked up items for her home that she needed by shopping at the outlet stores and stores such as Good Will and Salvation Army. She was an excellent example of frugality and diligence!
