Do you dabble in science?
Try a fine blend of science, cocktails, and conversation.
Cancel all plans tonight. Head to the American Museum of Natural History for the monthly SciCafe Event. It's Happy Hour for both the molecular nerds and the posers of this city. I fall into the latter category. Get in on the cutting-edge presentations by a variety of beautiful minds.
Tonight sounds particularly intriguing. Topic: Will social networking sites like Facebook affect the course of human evolution? The SciCafe has invited the anthropologist, Peter Richerson, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of The Origin of Species with a presentation and stiff cocktail.
If you are glued to your cube tonight, don't worry too much. Although, it really isn't healthy to stay in the office past seven. So yes, worry about your extreme work regimen, but don't fret about missing tonight's Happy Hour.
SciCafe hosts a variety of speakers on the first Wednesday of every single month. My challenge for you: attend every single one.
Details: Doors open at 7 pm for guests 21 and up. Admission is free, with a cash bar. Enter at 81st Street/Rose Center
If you are able to attend, please comment and let us know what you learned.
