It's getting colder in Manchester, and the kids are getting restless in the house. You might be searching for things to do this weekend. Why not visit the local science center? The SEE Science Center was dedicated in 1986 and has been engaging visitors of all ages in the pursuit of science discovery ever since. Don't be fooled, this is more of a children's museum, and not just for the young at heart, all the same, your kids will love this place.
The SEE Science Center is open 7 days a week (besides holidays) at 10 am and closes between 4 and 5. Located at 200 Bedford Street in Manchester, NH it is easy to find among the mills of the city. For anyone 1 year and older it is $6, but you can easily become a member and enter free for the year.
Family memberships will set you back $70, but not only do you and your family members get in for free for the year, you also get discounts on birthday parties! It makes a great gift for friends with kids.
The cornerstone exhibit is The LEGO® Millyard Project. This is the largest permanent LEGO® installation at mini-figure scale in the world! The project represents Manchester's Amoskeag Millyard as it might have looked in1900. The Amoskeag Manufacturing Company was commonly recognized as the largest textile manufacturer in the world by 1915. The Amoskeag mill complex spanned over a mile on the east side of the Merrimack River and half a mile on the west side and the model represents a portion of the east side, along with part of downtown Manchester, the city that the Amoskeag company helped to build. Kids will be thrilled to see this massive display and parents will be amazed.
