Whether this falls into the "good" or "bad" category depends on you, but it is news nonetheless.

The much-publicized, and financially-troubled Spider-Man Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, just announced that the man donning the webs will be rock singer Reeve Carney.

This is interesting news coming from the production considering that many were expecting today to be the day that they announced whether or not the show would even happen. Rising costs due to the extensive renovation of The Hilton where the show will play delayed the production for months this summer and it was doubtful that it would be ready in time for their preview in February 2010.

That may still be the case as no dates have been set. But, along with the announcement that Spidey had been cast, show producer Michael Cohl confirmed that the play is "moving forward!"
