The Fairfax County Health Department will hold another mass H1N1 vaccine clinic  this Saturday.  12,000 doses of the vaccine are available and will be given out between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center.  Most of the vaccine will be given in the form of the nasal spray.

The health department is targeting children between the ages of four and nine for Saturday's clinic.  They are working closely with Fairfax County Public Schools and  will also offer the vaccine to children between the ages of 10 and 18 who have chronic medical conditions like asthma and diabetes.

On Tuesday November 10th and Thursday November 12th the health department will hold five clinics across the county.  Three hundred vaccine doses will be available at each clinic on these days.  The vaccine is free.  On these days pregnant women and children 6 months to 4 years of age will be eligible for the vaccine.

The Centers for Disease Control reports 48 states have widespread flu activity.  They also say pediatric deaths and hospitalizations are higher than expected for this time of the year.
