It seems that it is easy for politicians to “find religion” when its re-election time. Although Freudenthal is keeping a lid on the possibility of running for a third term.
Out of the blue (maybe in response to an articles like this or this ) I received the following email from the Wyoming Capitol:
Dear Mr. Bouchard:
Please see the following regarding the National Rifle Association's endorsement of Governor Freudenthal.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Suddenly the Governors Office is bragging about his NRA endorsement, although Freudenthal was quite arrogant about backlash he received for his endorsement of Obama, he said "They [the NRA] haven't said anything to me about it, and I don't think they have a right to."
Freudenthal also said “the NRA opposed McCain when it rated his support of issues that the NRA supports”.
"I think he got a 'C' rating from them, and now he's like their poster boy," Freudenthal said. "If you look some of this up, (NRA chief executive officer) Wayne LaPierre said some pretty ugly things about John McCain."
I agree, the NRA consistently uses poor judgement when it comes to endorsements and Governor Freudenthal should think twice before pushing the same worthless endorsement of himself. It is just a convenient relationship Freudenthal has with the NRA, but worst it proves out how dangerous the endorsements of the NRA have been and how lost the leadership of the NRA has become.
Instead of joining the NRA or a state level affiliate - join a "No-Compromise" group like Gun Owners of America or Wyoming Gun Owners - Wyoming's only state level "No-Compromise" gun rights organization.
