James Franco at the world premiere of "Milk" in San Francisco

James Franco told ELLE magazine (January issue) that Sean Penn pushed the love scenes in the film "Milk" farther than the original script.

In the original script I read, there was only one real kissing scene. A month after Gus asked me to do it, they sent me another script, and on Page 5 there was a full-on love scene."

When James asked director Gus Van Sant why the new scene was so much sexier, Gus told him, "It was Sean's idea."

"Milk" is a biopic about Harvey Milk, the first openly gay city supervisor of San Francisco. It is getting rave reviews along with some serious Oscar buzz.
