Tomorrow night, Thursday November 4th, for the 5th year in a row, Standings Bar (7th Street @ Greenwood Ave. in Brooklyn) will be hosting "Dogfish Head Novemberfest". As of now, DFH doesn't brew an Octoberfest (or whatever their extreme version of one would be), so I guess Standings celebrates the start of the next month without a beer to its name, November.

As part of their tap list, Standings will be offering the Punkin' Ale, Midas Touch Golden Elixir, Pangaea Belgian Strong Ale, Red & White, and the 120-Minute IPA.

In case you don't know, the 120-Minute IPA is the strongest IPA out there, consistently hopped for 2 hours, yielding it in the end with 18% ABV and 120 IBUs (International Bitterness Units). But don't be too intimidated, it actually plays out quite sweet, almost shockingly.

There's no word at the moment as to which batch of 120 this is, whether it's last year's or this year's, but if you've never tried it before, it's a unique experience not to be passed up.

And there's free pizza around 7:30, if you really need more convincing.
