It takes a lot of planning and preparation to throw a proper baby shower for a friend or family member. Thanks to some great online stores, and few local Sacramento establishments, you can plan and execute a fabulous shower fast, easy, and inexpensive.

Start with the basics and add some personal touches at the end. To figure out what you will need, create a checklist. Visit a one-stop shop online for non-perishable items such as party favors, games, and decorations. This will help cut costs of purchasing separately and helps with continuity of your theme. Invitations set the tone of the shower, so you want to choose a quality product. Papyrus in Sacramento or Roseville offers custom baby shower invitations, in addition to pre-made with the option to print. Pulp Papery in Sacramento has a wonderful assortment of invitations to choose from as well.

Tarts and Truffles Bakery has a feature in which you can order a traditional or custom cake online and have it delivered, or pick it up in the Corti Brothers store in Sacramento. They also offer gourmet Italian food, including lots of deli items like salads and sandwiches that are great for serving at day occasions. You have the option of buying the prepared food, or saving money by purchasing the ingredients and making it yourself.

If you are having the baby shower at a residence, you will have to arrange for table, chair, glass, and utensil rental, depending on the amount of guests. America’s Party Rental in Sacramento has complete packages at a discount that take the guesswork out of what you will need.

Finally, add a personal touch as a gift for the mom-to-be, which can include something like a diaper cake or a gift certificate for a 3D/4D ultrasound package so she can get a first look at her baby. Sonotech in Roseville offers them for $95 and includes ten pictures and a DVD.

With all these great resources in Sacramento, you could pull of a beautiful baby shower rather quickly, but try to start as early as possible because you want the experience to be memorable and fun for you too.
