The following statement comes from MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) in Bolton Hill:

"On Friday and Saturday nights, the Central District of the Baltimore City Police Department (which includes Bolton Hill) will have an additional 57 police officers. On Friday, about ten will be on foot in Bolton Hill and near/on the MICA campus. On Saturday night, 25 police officers will be on foot in Bolton Hill and on the MICA Campus. On Friday and Saturday nights, MICA Campus Safety will have an increased staff and will be deployed mostly on the main campus."

Last night I was out in Bolton Hill and there were police everywhere. At certain intersections there were police cars with 5 cops standing around them. Tonight I ran through Bolton Hill at about 7PM and I only saw one police car (which is not unusual). There were a moderate amount of trick or treaters and there were quite a few houses on Park Avenue with some cool set ups and give aways for the kids.  I assume the numbers of police on the streets tonight will surpass last nights as it gets later. I am going to a party in Bolton Hill tonight so I guess I will see.

I think it is great that so many extra policemen were suddenly found for this weekend. I hope that these officers can be deployed in the future all over the Central District on random "regular days".
