The Los Angeles Clippers blew out the Golden State Warriors tonight in Oakland, CA in a game that was only close for a few possessions in the 1st quarter.
The Clippers rolled to their 2nd victory of the season as they came out blistering hot in the first two quarters going to the locker room up by a dozen. Then, as center Chris Kamen stated during the post game report, "In the second half, we finished it even stronger." The Clippers outscored the Warriors for the first three quarters and the second unit played well enough in the final frame.
Golden State was short handed, playing without starter Andris Biedrins, out with a sore back. Anthony Morrow lead the way for the Warriors, finishing with 18 points off the bench.
This was a glimpse back at the preseason Clippers; Coach Mike Dunleavy and his team are trying to show signs of life after an unimpressive five game stretch to open the season with a 1-4 record. The team was led by Baron Davis' breakout 25 point, 7 assist and 4 steal performance and 25 points off the hot hands of Eric Gordon. The team shot 58% from the field. As important as any of these particulars was the opportunity to give bench players Sebastian Telfair and Andre Jordan some room to let off some steam and perform well. Each finished with season highs of 13 points.
