The Iron Gym Bar Pull Up bar is one of the best! It is a strong sturdy piece that will get a lot of use, and fits most doorways. You don't need any tools for the Iron Gym brand. You may have seen this advertised on TV, and it is also sold on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Iron-Gym-Total-Upper-Workout

First off, if your not strong enough to pull all the way up in a full pull up, you can modify with a chair under the bar. Just keep your legs on the chair and do an assisted pull up just like at the gym. As you get stronger you can use the chair less by pushing it further away. The closer the chair the easier the move is to do, and each time you do these you will tend to get stronger.

What is great about this piece is that you can leave it there 24/7. That's right its in the door frame, out of the way and not collecting dust. Another good thing about this is, the theory of "out of site out of mind" does not apply. How can you not get a workout with this piece of equipment when its right there in front of you? Of course it easily comes down and can be put away out of site as needed.

It got a 4 out of 5 star rating from Amazon customers. Its sturdy, the foam is nice and you can do all 3 arm grips, close, wide and regular. A few people thought you could not do some of the moves with this and another said this about the door way:

"For this item to work properly, you'll want to make sure your door frame is between 5.5 and 6 inches thick. Too thin and it will just fall off, to thick and the plastic brace won't sit flush on the wall. Either way, you wouldn't want to put ANY weight on it if it isn't flush."

You can order the ab straps that are attatchment to this piece for an additional amount plus shipping. Some boxes are marked that you can get the straps for free, however you still would need to pay the $7.95 for shipping and handling.

Nothing negative to say about this piece, and is a good addition to any fitness collection. This piece was purchased  for $24.99 plus tax using a $5.00 off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond. The average retail price is $29.99-39.99, so shop around.
