...It doesn't get anymore hon than that Hon!
The annual Best Dressed Sale and Boutique is under way. I have never been but my friend, Wendy, asked me to go with her so I decided to tag along. I couldn't believe the deals to be had on this fine Autumn day! There were lots of people in the middle of the day, shopping their little hearts out--as though they took a vacation day so they wouldn't miss out on any deals! And deals were there for the taking! You can see the photo on the left which shows how much $164 will buy. And the beauty of the Best Dressed sale is that things get progressively less expensive with every passing day. HOLY SMOKES!!!!! Sunday is the last day and most things will be half price. Although, there will be much less to choose from so waiting is a real gamble.
It is a good thing Wendy came along as I am not sure what I would have done without her---her arms were full! Believe it or not, after I made her carry all my stuff she had to go back and carry all her stuff. She got this really cool suede purse with long fringes that hung way down off of the bottom of the purse. It might have been one of the coolest things I saw there. They had men's clothes---shirts, pants, jackets, overcoats, ties, suits, and shoes. They had all kinds of woman's clothing also---dresses, suits, jackets, wedding dresses (yes, wedding dresses---and quite a few BEAUTIFUL ones too), shoes, furs, those little foxes woman used to wear around their necks back in the day, although why is a question that I am sure will never be explained, or if it is explained I am sure I will not really understand why someone would have ever wanted to wear one of those things around their neck. I can't see what purpose they served.
When you are all through shopping, you can head up to Towson for the parade to honor Baltimore's own, Michael Phelps. The "Parade of Gold" will begin at 3pm and will wind through the heart of Towson, beginning at the intersection of Burke Avenue and York Road. Michael Phelps will be joined by fellow Olympians, Katie Hoff, and Jessica Long. There will be free parking in some of the garages and some meters will be free also. And if that isn't enough, there will be fireworks at Fort McHenry tomorrow evening along with lots of entertainment. The price tag for the day's events is expected to be about $300,000 so get out and enjoy the beautiful day! Check out this site for all the 411: baltimore.org/phelps
The Best Dressed sale will be open for business on Saturday from 10am until 5pm, and Sunday from 11am until 4pm. The sale is being held Evergreen Museum & Library's Carriage House @ 4545 North Charles Street, right above Loyola College. Come on out and shop til you drop. All proceeds benefit patient care at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
And for heaven's sakes, if you look at the shoes, make sure you put the rubber band back around the shoes so they are banded together!
