Hampdenfest is happening this weekend. A great time for hanging out with friends and getting to know Hampden. There will be 3 stages of music, food, drinks, and vendors to provide plenty of local wares. All the restaurants and bars will be open and likely will be offering food and drink specials. Holy Frijoles always has great drinks and specials. If you never tried their wide variety of margaritas, this will be the opportune time. If they have the cucumber margarita you will do your tastebuds a favor by trying it. It is just about the best drink I ever tasted.
Hampdenfest will be fest-ering (I just made that word up--pretty cool, huh?) Saturday, September 13th, from 11am until 7pm. There are plenty of after parties going on too so keep your ears and eyes open. Let me know how your party goes. I am attending an after party at my friend Larry's house on Hickory Avenue.
Hampdenfest---fun from morning til late at night so make sure you don't miss all the fun. After all, this will be about the last really big Hampden thing until Halloween! (Hampdenites can't go too long without a celebration, festival, or parade).

In fact, you might as well get up early and go get a coffee from Royal Farm or 7/11----or head the other way and stop at The Common Ground to get the best coffee in Hampden. Once you get your coffee in your hand, start your Hampden celbration early and visit Art in the Park. The corner of 36th Street and Falls Road From 9am until 2pm is where you will find all kinds of art. They have other points of interest. Last time I was there they had a juggler who seemed more than happy to teach me how to juggle. It didn't work. Maybe next time.
