Snow on motorcycle
Not a good day to ride

"What was your most embarrasing biker moment?"

That was a question asked on the HD Talking forum, and I love questions like that because of the answers they elicit. Here are a few of the responses.

  • Mine was when my bike broke down at a car show and I had to climb on back of my father-in-laws V-star and ride past thousands of people to go get a battery for my bike. People seem to look at you funny when there are to guys riding on one bike hope to never go through that again.
  • Mine would have to be when I was teaching the wife about danderous footing on sand dusted pavement.Jumped on the scoot and as I was explaing..sure enough my foot came right out from under me and down we went.
  • Dropped my bike in front of a bar full of bikers as they all spilled out to take off... Twice.
  • Geeesh I have a bunch. But one that sticks out now is,... While I was riding on the main drag in Myrtle Beach. A slow crawl. It seemed that the bystanders were cheering me on when I showed up with my custom dresser. Made me feel real proud. I even took a gander at myself's profile in one of the windows of the stores I was passing in front of. Only to see that all the excitement was because of my passeger, she was holding her shirt up!
  • Many years ago Riding in FLA pull up on a beach, big group of us. Remember Helmets were required. Jump off bike, run down boat ramp, jump in with helmet on and strapped. Not not ever do this. I was lucky to keep my head attached. Helmet is filled with air, body goes down head does not.
  • I was parked next to an ACM,with quite a sizable que in front of it,when I drifted backwards ,the bike stareted to run away with me so I made the BIG mistake(reflex action)of turning my front wheel, pulling hard on my front brake and dropping my bike, then I fell on top of it.I learned then it is impossible to act or look cool, when youre a pile of leather and metal on the deck!
  • Would have to say riding a wheelie on a 250r honda three wheeler and bringing it down just in time to stove my shoulder into my sister in laws truck door! (Hey cathy can we use your truck to take the bikes out? She says "just don't tear it up", We're just gonna use it to take the bikes out how are we gonna tear it up? Was my response as I recall.)
  • i was 18 had not been riding long 3 months or so on my first bike, an 883sporty. ridin down the road saw a car load of hot girls getting gas so i thought "i need to top off my tank heehee." pulled up on the other side of the pump where the hot girls were .......the drag pipes sounds real good under that metal roof.......cut the bike off.....got off the bike.......only prob was i forgot to put the kickstand down....it may have been the worst moment in my life lol i dono.....
  • I have to say mine was the first time I even rode a street bike. It was my low rider. I dropped it right off the bat and my dad just stood there and laughed about it. Then I was going to ride it if it killed me. I picked it up while still straddling it and rode it up the road. Then a week later I ended up riding it through one of my neighbor's front yards because I hadn't learned to steer yet. I learned quickly luckily!!

And then there was this response.

  • My most embarrassing moment........nah, can't tell, it's way too embarrasing!!

So what's your most embarrassing biker moment? Come on, be brave, and leave a comment telling us about it. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
