The Mighty Orq's Milk Money album.

Westside High School students Alex Oriani and Ivan Espinosa will celebrate the grand opening of their arts and music venue The Canvas with a free event this Saturday, November 7. The two founders have created this new venue as a celebration of creative expression in all forms including photography, dance, poetry, spoken word and live music. The Canvas is located at 708 Telephone Road just one mile east of the University of Houston and Texas Southern University.

The debut event will get underway at 6 pm with a great lineup of live music from local artists including Chase Hamblin, Sideshow Tramps, The Mighty Orq, Deux Frupis, Listen Listen and Espantapajaros. The art portion of the event will be provided by LTL Photography’s display of photographs by Diana Simonetta. Food and beverages will be available from Pam Greer’s Kitchen, Radical Eats, Mango’s and Rebel Roots who will all be on hand to celebrate the opening of Houston’s newest venue for eclectic art, music and live performances.
