Iron Chef Michael Symon's new book

Iron Chef America's Chef Michael Symon new cookbook Michael Symon's Live to Cook, Recipes and Techniques to Rock Your Kitchen co-authored with Michael Ruhlman is out and Chef Symon will be appearing and signing copies at the Barnes & Noble at the Smith Haven Mall, Thursday, November 5th at 7 p.m.  He will also be appearing at NYC! If you are unfamiliar with Chef Symon, he is a highly skilled Chef that loves bringing his roots of Greece, Italy and the Mediterranean to the table, but does so with soul-satisfying, low-key, intense American flair.  Chef Symon, who might seem rough around the edges is really a softee who understands the home chef. 

What's great about this cookbook? This cookbook will help you with techniques not only in the kitchen but in the grocery store.  He sets out "to make great food more approachable for home cooks and to do so without dumbing down or simplifying the food or cooking"  Chef Symon shares invaluable information that is easy to locate in his book under Symon Says with topics such as on using salt, creating a balanced dish and perfecting simple kitchen techniques


Saturday, November 14, the biggest names in international brewing will gather at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the second annual International Great Beer Expo.

"Beer is the new Chardonnay". This international beer tasting extravaganza will showcase more than 50 breweries from across the globe, each providing samples of their country’s proudest brewing achievement.

What's all the hoopla about? NYC! Cook Eat Drink Live is a three-day modern food and wine event at The Tunnel & La.Venue (608 West 28th Street), featuring a large sampling of ultra-premium gourmet foods and spirits, plus appearances from some of the city’s premier chefs.

So, I'll be eating and drinking? Indulge in samples from your favorite Zagat-rated restaurant and shop for the favorite “foodie” in your life. Learn what it means to live well through demonstrations and featured products. Gain tips for the dining and entertaining from chefs, mixologists and seasoned experts.

Food Companies such as Cabot's Creamery, Pamela's. and William Greenberg Desserts are only the tip of the iceberg as to who will be there. Talent such at Ted Allen (The Food Network), Michael Symon (see above) and Allison Fishman (Lifetime's Cook Yourself Thin) are among other unbelievably well known expert Chefs. A plethora of Restaurant , wine and spirit companies will be showcasing their food and drink, as well.
