I think lawyers call this sort of thing "an admission against interest"...

Media Matters condemns Glenn Beck's "witch hunt" against Andy Stern, the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the nation's second biggest labor union (which has recently taken to hijacking town hall meetings and beating up opponents):

"Continuing his pattern, Glenn Beck suggested during the November 3 edition of his radio program that SEIU's Andy Stern is a communist, socialist, and Marxist because he said in an interview that 'workers of the world unite, it's not just a slogan anymore. It's the way we're going to have to do our work.'

"However, when asked in a separate interview why he uses the slogan, Stern replied that it's 'good news' that 'communism's dead"...'"

That's true. But Stern said that last bit to Leslie Stahl on 60 Minutes. What does Stern say when he's among friends?

Incredibly, Media Matters undermines its own defense of Stern by obviously citing additional segments from Glenn Beck's November 3 radio broadcast. On that show, Beck ran clip after audio clip of Stern saying troubling things, such as:

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It started last summer with the so called big box ordinance.

BECK: Listen to this.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Labor wanted it; business didn't.

STERN: We took names. We watched how they voted. We know where they live. (...)

STERN: There are opportunities in America to share better in the wealth, to rebalance the power, and unions and government are part of the solution.

And as Beck reminded listeners, Andy Stern has visited the White House more than any other guest this year. Which comes as no surprise because, along with President Obama himself, "SEIU has extensive ties to the community organization ACORN."

Besides:

"Stern is a leading figure in the so-called Shadow Party, a nationwide network of more than five-dozen unions, non-profit activist groups, and think tanks whose agendas are ideologically leftist, and who are engaged in campaigning for the Democrat Party."

Let's face it: $61 million buys you a lot of face time with the man who sits in the Oval Office.
