Stop and smell the flowers, but keep riding!
Sometimes I slowdown to take a look at the scenery, taking a break from working for each apex and slinging the bike I’m riding from side to side. Cresting the top of Stunt road, there is a small spot, one side overlooks the valley, on a clear day, you can see about 40 miles…Turn a quick 180, and you can see Catalina in the distance. Even when it’s a bit overcast, getting to stand up there and see the clouds come in, and the fog come roiling up the side of the mountain and pour out onto the road like liquid cotton candy makes you appreciate the simple things in life.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I behold more than my share in So-Cal, in women, in scenery, and in motorcycles. Each and every day I ride, nearly every Sunday in fact, I make sure to take a second, in between corners, and thank whoever or whatever it is that made this big beautiful place for us, and for me to waste perfectly good round rubber doughnuts, while combusting dead dinosaurs for pure enjoyment. I always end up back at the same place, my shop, where the ride started, and each time, with a renewed energy and refreshed spirit.
SO many good roads, hours and hours of them in fact, I have yet to be able to ride ALL of them on one day… Simply too many, and to much, and not enough daylight, and not enough gas in the tank, mine OR the bikes!
So this Sunday, its off on the New ‘Busa, for one ride before the turbo goes on, and the mods start.
