Thinking of taking a family vacation to Florida? Whether your family vacation in Florida will be taking in the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico, the activity-packed theme park capital of Orlando or the culture-filled city of Miami, a family vacation to Florida is sure to please. Here are some must-see sights in Florida that the whole family will enjoy.

Beautiful Beaches

One of the first things a family in Florida should do is make plans to hit the beach. Personally, the best Florida beach I have visited is in Destin near Florida’s panhandle. A family vacation to Destin, Florida, can include the pristine beaches as well as activities around town designed for kids and parents.

Another beautiful beach area in Florida to consider for your family vacation is the beach area of Naples, Florida. On the southwestern coast of Florida, Naples’ beach area is sometimes called the Paradise Coast and is certainly a luxury vacation destination for your family vacation in Florida.

Disney and Orlando

When you write about a family vacation in Florida, it’s impossible to leave out Orlando and Walt Disney World. If you’ve never taken your family – especially the kids and the young-at-heart – to Disney World, then it should not be missed. You won’t be disappointed.

But Disney World isn’t the only thing to see in Orlando, Florida. Universal Studios Florida, home to some of the most famous roller coasters and other rides in America, is located in Orlando, too. Also in Orlando is SeaWorld, where you can the Spotlight Dolphin Show and other big marine mammals, such as the Beluga Whales.

Sophisticated Miami

While Disney might be too kid-oriented for some, and Destin feels too much like a tourists-only location, Miami, Florida, has all the sophistication of any other big east coast American city, but it still has plenty of beautiful Florida beaches, theme parks, and family-friendly attractions. At Biscayne National Park near Miami offers snorkeling, kayaking, and camping while Everglades National Park gives more adventuresome families a chance to see Florida’s famous crocodiles.

Back in the city itself, on your family vacation to Miami, Florida enjoy the highly acclaimed Miami City Ballet, or take the kids to Miami Seaquarium on Biscayne Bay. Since the city of Miami, Florida, is well-known for its unique cultural diversity, consider taking your family on an educational cultural tour of Miami, where you can visit Little Haiti, Little Havana, or Allapatah (Little Dominican Republic).

A family vacation to Florida has a broad range of options that are sure to suit the entire family. The chances are whether your family wants to camp, hike, swim, learn, or play; families will enjoy a vacation in Florida.
